After a Stroke or Neurological Diagnosis
Discharge often comes faster than families expect, and the gap between leaving hospital and starting outpatient rehabilitation is where a lot of early progress gets lost. Home-based physiotherapy closes that gap. Angela picks up where the inpatient team left off, in the environment where recovery actually has to work. If you're reading this having just been told a discharge date, the useful step is to arrange an assessment for the first week home rather than waiting to see how things go.

How It Works
Neurological rehabilitation works on the nervous system's capacity to adapt and relearn, and progress comes from repeated, specific, meaningful practice.
Working at home can be beneficial: Angela sees the actual stairs, the actual bathroom and the height of the bed. Family and caregivers are trained too, since much of what determines progress happens between visits.
For referring practitioners: Angela accepts referrals for home-based neurological rehabilitation across Sandton and the northern suburbs, including post-discharge continuation of inpatient programmes. Written feedback is provided after initial assessment and at review points.
